4k7 is an AI-first schematic and layout tool. There is no pencil and no wire tool. You say what you want, an agent designs it, you review every change — and out come the Gerbers.
Runs on your machine, in your browser. Nothing else to install. The Mac app is not signed yet: if macOS says it cannot check it, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway.
Four steps, no drawing.
12 V to 3.3 V buck, 2 A. Put C1 left of U1. Hints are welcome, wires are not needed.
Your model of choice works through a typed operation API. A deterministic kernel turns intent into geometry.
Every change is a checked, reviewable changeset. ERC and DRC run before you see it. Accept, reject, or ask again.
Auto-placed, auto-routed, ground pour, 2D and 3D, exported as Gerber, drill, BOM and pick-and-place.
Add a USB-C port for power and pull CC1/CC2 down with 5k1.
Added J1 and the two CC pull-downs. Checked: no new ERC warnings.
Built for agent workflows, not for clicking.
Every AI change is a transaction: validated, ERC/DRC-checked, shown as a diff. Nothing lands unchecked.
Anthropic, OpenAI-compatible, Gemini or local models. 4k7 is an MCP server, so any agent can drive it.
Drop a datasheet PDF and get symbol and footprint. Source from JLCPCB on demand, LCSC numbers in the BOM.
No toolbars to learn. Chat, canvas and a review of each change; the design owns the screen. Runs locally, keys stay with you. MIT licensed.
